Can we configure recoverpoint on native replication port?
Hi,
My customer has 2 x Unity 450F's. Each SP on both boxes has one additional FC module.
Customer wants to use the integrated ports for RP connection and the rest for host traffic.
If the customer doesn't have plan to use native replication, can we configure RP using the integrated port 4 & 5? Or this is simply not allowed?
BTW, customer may need directly connect RP ports to VNX ports.

From the White Paper: "Unity Replication Technologies", section "RecoverPoint with EMC Unity"
"RecoverPoint should not be configured to utilize the EMC Unity Synchronous Replication Port on either SP"
Page 6 of the same doc (section "Synchronous Replication Interfaces") explains which port is reserved for Native synchronous replication:
"Native synchronous block replication is performed over the first Fibre Channel (FC) port configured on the system."
So, the first thing you should do is to check what ports are the Sync FC rep ports by issuing this command:
uemcli /remote/sys show -detail
Whatever ports are listed in the output should NOT be used for RP. Some of the possible consequences of dismissing this recommendation are listed in the KB.
