Avamar 7.1 - Back up of NFS mount on Linux(RHEL)

I have an RHEL virtual server where there is one NFS mount.. I currently have a backup (policy) that runs daily to handle the OS (vmdk). I also want to backup  this one NFS mount.

I discovered some articles that talk about OPTIONS in the DATASET to "include" the folder/filesystem  with a plug-in type of LINUX FILE SYSTEM.

Currently my dataset has SOURCE DATA set to "all virtual disks"

We are running Avamar 7.1.4

Hi,

Are you looking to backup NFS mounts? if you are doing backup with a dataset to allow  all files from Linux file system, it will not backup NFS mounts. You should find the source of the NFS mount. It can be a storage or another server and perform backup at the source of NFS mount.

thank you.    So using --FORCEFS=NFS in avagent.cmd will not support this? Then select "transverse network mounts".. in OPTIONS on DATASET ...

I noticed an older article describing this.

Pawan is correct in that the data accessible to the virtual server via the mount should be backed up at source.  According to Avamar Engineering it isn't supported to back up data via a remote mount.

You can read more about this in the following article
