Networker Client for Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Power little endian 7
Hello everyone.
Has anyone had the opportunity to install the networker client on a server with RHEL 7 for Power LE? I have problems since it requires the compat-libstdc ++ library but it is not available in the red hat repositories. Does anyone has solve this?
Networker is on 9.1 version.

Hi Omar,
Just use the --nodeps switch while installing the binaries on RHEL 7 for Power LE, and it should work just fine.
We have found similar issues Suse 11 SP4 and using switch --nodeps just works fine.
Try it, it should be ok.

The best way to install software is to use the yum command.
Before using yum, you need to have a Redhat account. You can create a Redhat account by using the following link:
https://www.redhat.com/wapps/ugc/register.html;jsessionid=txwh3urniE-EhmxOKnN7OatH.1fa0d0df?_flowId=register-flow&_flowExecutionKey=e1s1
- On your RedHat host,. register your redhat system using: # subscription-manager register. It will ask you for your RedHat account and password.
- next use: # subscription-manager attach
- download , unzip and untar the NetWorker package
- use yum to install, eg... "# yum install lgtoclnt-8.2.4.11-1.x86_64.rpm". This example will install the client, and it will try to install any dependent packages it needs.
In my first attempt yum still fails with :
Error: Package: lgtoclnt-8.2.4.11-1.x86_64 (/lgtoclnt-8.2.4.11-1.x86_64)
Requires: libstdc++.so.5()(64bit)
...
Packages skipped because of dependency problems:
lgtoclnt-8.2.4.11-1.x86_64 from /lgtoclnt-8.2.4.11-1.x86_64
...
warning: /var/cache/yum/x86_64/7Server/rhel-7-server-rpms/packages/glibc-2.17-222.el7.x86_64.rpm: Header V3 RSA/SHA256 Signature, key ID fd431d51: NOKEY:-- ETA
Public key for glibc-2.17-222.el7.x86_64.rpm is not installed
To resolve this, I use this:
# yum-config-manager --enable rhel-7-server-optional-rpms
# yum install compat-libstdc++-33
# yum install lgtoclnt-8.2.4.11-1.x86_64.rpm

Try looking at the following:
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SS7K4U_8.5.5/com.ibm.websphere.installation.nd.doc/ae/tins_linuxsetup_rhel7.html
https://serverfault.com/questions/703167/installing-compat-libstdc-33-on-rhel-7
Or, as ram.prakash@daimler.com said, since this is just a client, you might be able to just install without dependencies:
rpm -ihv --nodeps ...

Thanks you guys.
As RampyDJ said, it works with --nodeps option.
I was a bit late because I was trying to install version 9.0.1 but the thing is, support for this system begin with 9.1.1 version.
Thanks to all.

Hi I'm trying to add a new client which is a VM running RHEL on IBM PowerPC LE version.
When I run the new client wizard I get this error:
"Unable to authenticate with nsrexecd on host FQDN for RAP credentials: Authentication error; why = Server rejected credential"
Dell support told me to go into nsradmin and delete the peer information but there isn't any!
I'm wondering if this OS requires authentication and therefore the client has to be created manually. Would anyone know this answer to this?

Could it be that you used nsradmin to connect to the server's instead of the client's resource DB?
You must use
nsradmin -p nsrexec -s client
From the server, connect to the client - from the client, connect to the server.
Then search for the FQDN nsr peer information resource and delete it.
Run the operation on both sides
- on the NW server nsradmin -p nsrexec -s nw_client
- on the NW client nsradmin -p nsrexec -s nw_server

Thanks bingo, Dell have said this instead
"Since you are using the Redhat OS release 7.9 please use the linux package rather using Power PC (64-bit) Little Endian.
Linux package: https://dl.dell.com/downloads/DL107568_NetWorker-19.4.0.6-for-Linux-for-x64.gz"
