Dell product complaint

Hi

I have a Dell inspiron 15 that I bought in September 2018, I used the laptop for a month or so then in December when I tried opening it ,it was slow and the apps wouldn't load, I took it back to the store and I was told to pay R500 for software upgrade,  I mean why pay when the device is still under warranty and it was not mhmy fault so I would like to know how do I complain to Dell about this .

It has been back for a week or 2 now and I still have not used it, that's how much I don't trust it anymore and what makes me angry is that I had an option to choose other vendor but I decided to go for the Dell.

Thank you for your message. I apologize for the inconvenience caused. I will be glad to assist you with this.

You may have a basic hardware warranty on your system which does not cover any software issue. The hardware will be fine & the slow performance may be due to a software issue.

Is the system slow from the time you boot the system, or does it slow down when using any application in particular?

Did it slow down after any software changes or Windows update?

Is the disc or memory usage high in task manager performance tab?

Run a hardware diagnostic by following the video on this link & check if there is an error.

For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.

How to locate the service tag

A software problem could be caused due to multiple reasons, new driver update or a Windows update can also cause software issues.

If there is an issue with the Operating system there will be no charges. But if there is an issue caused by a 3rd party application there will be charges unless you have a premium warranty.
