Alpha R2, Blinking orange power light
My Alienware Alpha R2 is currently blinking orange lights. I’ve looked all over the manual and it doesn’t even have a section to explain what the blinking orange LED lights mean.
From what I’ve seen, each Dell/Alienware device has different meanings for the blinking lights, so it is of no use to me to use another Dell/Alienware devices LED light indicator graph
Currently, my device is blinking 3 times [short break] then another 6 times and then it stops for a [long break].

Are you sure it’s the CMOS battery though? I called a Dell customer support agent last night and they told me that the 3 & 6 blinks were indicating a motherboard and gpu error for what its worth.

Buy a new cmos coin cell battery and replace the one you have now. It is a cheap fix. Check the manual for instructions. Your exact model should show up in Settings, System, About.
Some users complain about blinking yellow lights others call them orange and vice versa.

Not sure at all but that costs just a few dollars that might help with that specific error message but not the lights. Go with Support's assessment which means trying a diff GPU and if that doesn't work considering other hardware failures.
