Global hot-spare vs dedicated hot-spare
Hello everyone, I have 2 virtual disk configured with RAID5, each virtual disk has configured dedicated hot-spare. There is also configured one global hot-spear. The question is, if one of the drive in virtual disk group will fail, which hot-spare will work first ? the dedicated hot-spare or global hot-spare?? Best Regards Marcin

Page 75 of the PERC manual:
A dedicated hot spare automatically replaces a failed physical disk only in the selected disk group which the hot spare is part of. A dedicated hot spare is used before a global hot spare is used.

I'm pretty certain that the dedicated hot spare will be used first. That being said, what controller model is it? It may be specified in the documentation.
