17 R4, Nvidia graphics card not detected by Device Manager

I was updating the nVidia drivers which unexpectedly failed due to my hard disk partition running out of space. Now the nVidia graphics card isn't showing on the Device Manager. I tried 'show hidden hardware' but no joy. Interestingly, it does show up in BIOS as 'GTX' under discrete display. So I am not sure what's happening. Now if I try to install nVidia driver, it can't find compatible hardware in my laptop.

I think during the initial driver update which accidentally failed midway, it removed existing driver which made the device unrecognizable. How to get out of this? Any help would be appreciated.

Here's photo of BIOS that shows nvidia gtx under discrete graphics 1:

I am having a similar problem, and now it won't even show up in my bios, but shows in hidden devices on device manager.
