Accidentally Deleted Win10 Partition - How to reinstall?
Hello, I accidentally deleted my Windows partition trying to set up my Dell G3 for dual boot. I thought I could get any Windows 10 installation media from Microsoft and use that to install from scratch by making a new partition and doing a targeted install there, but instead I can't perform the install due to missing drivers. I have found out that I can get a 4+ GB Windows 10 ISO from the Dell website linked to my service tag, but the instructions on the Knowledge Base don't actually explain whether that ISO will allow me to do a clean install if the original partition is gone and I need to install it on another partition. How do I do this? Will the "Dell Windows Recovery Image" be enough or will I need to do something else to be able to have Windows 10 again on my laptop? Thank you

The Dell images are Windows images only as far as I can tell. If there is one for your service tag, I would go with that first.

If you use a USB 2.0 Optical Drive and a Windows 10 OEM system builder disk you can reinstall without issue on ANY Dell via F12 boot from 2006 to made in Feb 2019.

Most of the installs using the Dell media will wipe the drive and set it back to factory specs.
No System image backups?
You can clean install Win 10 if you have the install media. If you had a recovery drive made using Win 10, it would also reinstall to factory.
If you have no Win 10 OS partition, you don't have a lot to lose by trying different procedures.
The missing drivers situation might be if you have an NVMe drive and you are trying to install using the SATA PCIe controller. If that were the case, you would need to load the SATA F6 floppy drivers during the install. Some folks also report they need to load drivers if they are trying to use an FD card to boot the system for the install.

Actually no it does not.
Dell media is almost exactly the same as Oem System Builder Media.
Thats why this disk works for All Dells with 7 or 8 or 10

You need to download the OEM Drivers for Video and Audio and Chipset and Management Engine etc.
For Enterprise systems this is easy cuz its all in one cab file.

Harder for Non Business systems.
IMHO they should do this for All systems.
The reason is that you download the cab file.

Use 7 zip to extract here
then right click on any yellow ! in device manager and say update from my machine instead of from the internet and the driver installs.
