Create Server - iSCSI Connectivity Down
Hi All,
I have two servers connected to the SCv2020 with 10G Ethernet adapters on the servers side and iSCSI HBAs on the SCv2020 side.
Below are the screenshot of how Fault Domains are configured.
From GLR630HOST01 I can ping 192.168.11.121 and 192.168.12.121.
From GLR630HOST02 I can ping 192.168.11.122 and 192.168.12.122.
However, when I try to Create Server I get this:
Did I configure iSCSI HBA Domain 1/2 or iSCSI Embedded Domain 1 wrong?
Thank you.

Hello Nightwolf_82,
Since you are not using a switch your ports are not being recognized. Refer to page 43 under Connecting to iSCSI Host Servers of the Dell Storage Center SCv2000 and SCv2020 Storage System Deployment Guide:
https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/storage-sc2000_deployment-guide_en-us.pdf
It states in section d: Use the iSCSI cabling diagrams to cable the host servers to the switches. Connecting host servers directly to the storage system without using Ethernet switches is not supported.

Hello Nightwolf_82,
HBA Domains 1 and 2 are configured, and the port status is up. iSCSI Embedded Domain 1 is not in use which is why it shows as an unknown status. Since you can see the iqn name of the servers when trying to add them it indicates the server is configured correctly to the Fault Domain. From the server side you should show 4 ports listed.
I do not know what model of switch you are using, but I suspect the issue is with the switch configuration. Your model of switch may not be listed on this page, but you can use them as a reference: https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln310825/switch-configuration-guides-for-sc-series-or-ps-series-sans?lang=en
Attached is a basic listing of iSCSI Best Practices from a previous document. I would check your Flow Control settings which can cause this type of issue.

Hi Dell-Bob Mi,
I don't use switch(es) in between servers and storage controller.
Server 1 is connected to the Top iSCSI HBA port 1 and the Bottom iSCSi HBA port 1.
Server 2 is connected to the Top iSCSI HBA port 2 and the Bottom iSCSi HBA port 2.
Regards,
