Inspiron 15-7590, auto brightness adjust
Hi, I have the new XPS 15 7000 Series-7590 (UHD screen). This setting is not within my BIOS. Is there something I need to do in order to fix this?
I'm constantly switching between dark and light windows within my workflow so this problem is crucial for me to resolve. Help would be much appreciated, otherwise I'll need to return it and try another model.
I purchased the UHD screen version because I wanted truer colours and blacks, thinking the OLED wouldn't be on par. Is this automatic brightness feature on the OLED as well?
Cheers.

Hello.
I have the same problem with my Dell XPS 7590 OLED. How can I switch on auto brightness?
Thank you.

Hi, did you find a solution to the problem?
I have the same model and the same problem and this "feature" is extremely annoying since it changes the brightness completely random.
Cheers.

Also have this problem with Inspiron 15 7590... The settings in the intel command centre don't have any effect.

I have already tried what you have in the first article, I have tried a lot more than that, I've disabled every power saving feature I know off, reinstalled drivers, reinstalled windows and nothing changes. Also the article is a bit out of date as now there is an "Intel Graphics Command Centre":
(the second article is irrelevant since i don't have an XPS or Precision with OLED screen...)

The solution was finally presented on my reddit thread by another user who had the same issue:
Turning off HDR in Windows Settings.
Settings > System > Display > Windows HD Color "Play HDR games and apps" --> OFF
