Direct connection MD3800F to ESXI host server
Is it possible to attach the storage array to my esxi host?
Currently I have a newly install standalone esxi host server. I will be creating a few VMs from this host and wanted to use MD3800F as my storage. How do I go about performing this configuration?

Hello PCJason,
With an MD3800F you can connect a host directly to it. In most cases customers will use the sas ports on each controller to connect to the host. Here is the link to the Deployment guide and if you look on page 17 there is a picture showing this configuration. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/powervault-md3800f_deployment-guide6_en-us.pdf
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi Sam,
What else do I need to do to allow my esxi server able to see & add the storage into my esxi host?

Hello PCJason,
You will need to configure host access in MDSM and Map a virtual disk to your host. Here is the link to the admin guide that will show you how to do both. Configuring host access is on page 57. Host to virtual disk mapping is on page 83. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/powervault-md3400_administrator-guide_en-us.pdf
Here is also the link to the Deployment guide as well just in case you need it. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/powervault-md3800f_deployment-guide6_en-us.pdf
