Latest BIOS update broke my XPS 9570

I updated the Bios to the latest update and it completely broke my system. Linux and windows both unusable.

I use the laptop for work. I have the most important deadline of my career tomorrow and now I have a broken piece of hardware as pc because DELL roll a broken update.

This company is a joke.

Have a look at this page as you may have BIOS Recovery on your system. And if it works I strongly suggest not updating the BIOS if the system is working properly.

I already tried to roll back the Bios with the BIOS recovery to no success. The update was so broke that apparently it bricked my hard drive.

Usually if a BIOS goes wrong then the hard drive is not affected. But the motherboards is definitely affected (the BIOS is on the motherboard). Are you able to boot the system so that at least it gets to the Dell splash screen? If only the hard drive is affected you will see a message similar to Boot Device not detected. If the MB is bricked then you get nothing at all.

I see the Dell logo, then the system goes into diagnostic and tell me that I do not have an hard drive (which I can see as connected in the Bios menu).

Everything was working fine before the bios update.

I don't know whether it is a sureshot solution, but you could try this:

1. Download the old BIOS firmware.

2. Load it on a recovery media.

3. Boot from the media and install the old BIOS firmware.

I hope this helps!

First thing I tried. I think I'll need to replace my mother board since the update fried it.
