PERC H740P disk used for server backup?

Hi, I'm trying to use one of my spare drive bays on the server for local backup and have gotten a 10GB drive to do this - critical data is also copied elsewhere on the network and offsite. Windows Server Essentials 2016 seems to fail with some error that the configuration failed which I think is pointing to that the PERC H740P doesn't support a non-RAID configuration for a drive, if I'm interpreting the posts correctly.

Hello,

you can create a RAID0 with just 1 disk and OS will see it as a RAID Virtual Disk.

Thanks

Marco

Thanks Marco - I had tried this, but failed for some reason. After spending some more time trying to configure Windows Backup, I did get it to work, so the failure I think was unrelated. So either way, all working now and i'm using RAID0.

Thanks,

Nick.
