XPS 13 7290 2-in-1, mouse/trackpad intermittently freeze
Hello,
Anyone know how to fix the issue that my new dell xps 13 7390 2-in-1 has? The mouse/trackpad input is intermittently freezing under minor loads. (My old laptop would not have the same issue, despite it being much older)
I've disabled panel self refresh.

I'm also having this issue with my Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 7390. After updating the BIOS about a week ago, I began having the issue. At first, it said that I didn't even have Bluetooth at all. I had reinstall the Bluetooth driver from Support website for the 7390 to get Bluetooth to work again.
Then later I began to notice the mouse stuttering issues. I've just done changed the Bluetooth power setting listed in previous posts, but I hope a new BIOS update fixing these issues is issued soon.

can someone please get on this update? it's insanely infuriating that this stuttering & lag happens like this. Having users disable an option isn't a solution and it shouldn't be marked as a solution if Dell isn't doing anything to officially address the issue

Yes this worked for me thank you! unchecking the "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power" under "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)" setting in device manager.

Is there a link or instructions on how to roll back the BIOS?

Can Dell please give us an update? I don't see any Power Management option in my Intel bluetooth device. I tried to rollback the bios to 1.1.3 and that improved the delay from 2-3seconds to around a dew milliseconds, but that is still unacceptable for a laptop at this price point. I want to have the laptop replaced but I'm not sure if this issue will be fixed so I'm holding out on doing that. Is it a software issue? If so what can be done?

Disabling energy saving for Bluetooth isn't an acceptable solution.
My battery life was cut in half after disabling Bluetooth energy saving.
I'm an essential worker in the medical industry and I rely on the battery life of this laptop to do my job saving lives.

Sadly there's nothing we can do until Dell engineers provide a fix. Unfortunately, given the severity of the issue I would have excepted a more rapid response to the issue. I'm going to express my frustration that a problem of this magnitude on a brand new device I paid 1400$ is quite unacceptable (I also have had other issues related to Audio drivers). I was warned about Dell QC by others but decided to try for myself.

Bluetooth power management worked for me too, but we need a BIOS fix to solve the problem correctly.
Waiting for Dell to take care of this issue.

Hi, this post is a bit of concern for me at making a decision to choose between Lenovo YOGA C940 and the XPS 13 7390 2-in-1... what would be your insight - would you go for the same again?
Cheers, Milan

I have the same laptop (XPS 13 7290 2-in-1).
In my case the freezing problem occured several times every minute, and started to be a major issue for me. I just tried the bluetooth setting that allow the device to turn it of to save power.
It's been around 30 minutes now, an the freezing problem has not occured a single time after the setting change in the device manager. I thank you for your post. This solution was a life saver!!

As someone who has the XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 and has struggling with multiple driver related issues for the last month. Get the Lenovo.

Hi Jesse,
Do you know how I can process a return. I'm just outside the return period (by only a few days!) and my core issues haven't been resolved in the month.
With the covid pandemic, I hope we can still process a return.
I spoke with a Dell representative online, but they refused to process a return, despite the defective issues on my laptop.
