Intel 3165 and 7265 WiFi Driver - Installation Failed

I had a few updates for my Inspiron 5570 and this was the only one that failed to install/update.

A black box appears (which I believe to be system file checker) and doesn't do anything. Just the box with the little white "-" that blinks.

The download bar for the update had reached 91% at this point and did not move for the 5 minutes I waited. Nothing happened until I exited out of the system file checker.

I've tried this a few times and still nothing happens with the black box. It just pops up and doesn't do anything else.

Identify the exact card you have in the system.  Installing a second network driver for the incorrect card can cause all sorts of havoc (and don't count on the Dell update software to be reliable in its hardware detection).  The base model will have a Qualcomm card - not Intel.

Use the service tag at support.dell.com to look up the card you have -- or if it's a model where it's simply a matter of removing the base cover, check visually.

Same.  Device manager flickers when on wifi.  Reinstalled from Intel after uninstalling.  Still got only the 3165.  Other won't update from Dell.  Still same error message at 91% and black screen.  Dell is not standing behind their systems.
