G3 3500 Storage upgrade

I'm trying to work out what the upgrade options are for my new G3. The manual seems to indicate you can have 2 M2 or one M2 plus a 2.5? I'm really not sure

Can anyone help?

My invoice says I currently have "512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive"

So, what can I add?

The answer likely depends on the battery you have.

The 4-cell 68WHr battery appears to fill the case such that only up to two M.2 drives can be installed.

There's also a 3-cell 51 WHr battery that likely leaves space for a 2.5" drive.

So - it depends on the battery you have.

@ejn63 That's very helpful, I have the 51 battery so sounds like a SATA drive is an option

Before buying anything, remove the base cover and visually inspect the system -- you may find you need a cable, bracket and screws to mount a 2.5" drive and these may not be included in the system.  If they're not there, you'll need to order those from Dell to mount a 2.5" drive.
