What's the best way to make XPS 13 9300 as silent as possible under Ubuntu?
The only thing I don't like about Dell notebooks is, that they're often not very quiet.
Is there any safe way to make the XPS 13 9300 as quiet as possible in Linux?

https://github.com/hbriese/fancon allows you to configure fan speed.
I disable the fans under 50 degrees (C), 50% fan speed above that, ramping them up to full near 80 degrees
I also undervolt the CPU & GPU using https://github.com/erpalma/throttled

If you disable TurboBoost in the BIOS, you will basically never hear the fan.
Of course the computer will always run just a little slower, but it will stay nice and cool. Also the batter life will be awesome.
