Hello i finally found the root of the problem, If you have "Kaspersky Antivirus" that is the problem, the "AWCCService" has  in the setup a delay start configuration, the antivirus always loads first and i dont know why but it doesnt let all the services load as they should. When the "OCControl.services" tries to load after the "AWCCService" loads it opens and closes multiple times until it stops trying to load.

But there is one very simple solution that i found, it is the "Kaspersky Antivirus" that it is causing the problems, that is why i have it in all my Alienware machines (1 PC Area 51, and 2 Lap´tops M15 R2), the solution is:

Turn on your computer after entering windows inthe lower right corner of your screen is the "Kaspersky icon":

Just right click with your mouse on it and exit the Antivirus.

Then wait for a minute while AWCCService and OCControls loads, you can check in task manager when OCControls loads:

After it loads you can now open the "Alienware Command Center" and everything should be fine and working.

Afeter this you can activate again the Antivirus "Kaspersky" and everything works ok.

I tried to reach "Kaspersky" to tell them to solve this problem by e-mail, but they answer me with a response that you can find by your self in the help section of their antivirus, they do not care to fix this. Well next time i wont be buying "Kaspersky" again.

This solution is very easy if you have the same problem it is your Antivirus software that it is causing it, i tried puting all the proograms in a special section (in AV Kaspersky) that avoids causing problems for the software but it doesnt work you have to close it, or the services wont load.

I hope it helps everyone with this problem.

Regards.

Have you tried installing an older version of OC controls since you're having issues with the most recent?  Like this one for example:

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

Also, did you remember to install AWCC first and restart before adding OC controls?

@INXSEX

Make sure everything is installed correctly. ( Dell downloads and the ones from microsoft store, you may have to login into the store)

If everything seem to be installed correctly and you still have the spinning balls then:

Try: ( it may help)

On my computer the spinning balls is usually sign that the oc_service did not start.

This serice file is located :

"C:\Program Files\Alienware\Alienware Command Center\OCControlService\OCControl.Service.exe"

just run it as an administrator. (right click :  OCControl.Service.exe)

I have created a desktop shotcut to run as an administrator, the service when it fails to start.

Open awcc, then the shortcut ( or right click the service file )  and it should work. It may take up to 1 minute or so to activate, if not run the service again.

This seems to be a common problem

( make sure you have internet connection)

There does appear to be an issue with this December 10 version which came with my recently received R11.  It stopped working.  I went through a clean removal including regedit and reinstallation and got is working (twice), but each time it would stop working again.  It is as if AWCC can't find OCControl and wants to install it, but the install process does see OCControl already installed and gets confused.  Removed this software altogether now.

It's a complex program.

For those who want to complain, in awcc, go to setting, the 4th option is feedback (click here to provide feedback)

Don't be shy!

Just ignore the "OCcontrols need to download" message.... I have the December 5.2.100 version of Alienware Command Center and OC controls version 1.2.74.1238 from June 2020 because they seem to happily co-exist with Ryzen Master...

When I tried newer OC controls it would cause Ryzen Master to error "driver not found"  when trying to launch the application, so I reverted to older Alienware OC controls, even though I don't really use them it seems they are necessary for the fan controls to work.

Note:

When I did install the new controls AWCC kept on wanting to download them again and again (looping) before reverting back to the older version of controls... I can silence AWCC message of wanting to download controls by blocking Internet access to the Alienware Command Center with a firewall... I use Kaspersky but Windows Firewall should be able to block Internet access to AWCC too.

Hello thanks for the reply. unfortunately it did not work.

its incredible that so many people are having problems, but not a single official support from dell offers a solution.

@sm56

Ryzen master program works fine with the newer version of the occontrol.service,no error on startup at least on my computer (I don't really use it,don't need it)

The path for the driver should be found in the registy. So you might have the wrong one (old one) or may actually have more than one path in witch case, you have to correct it.

That's really weird, I used a system restore to fix Ryzen Master after the oc controls updated through AWCC...

I have exported the amdryzenmaster16 key...

Maybe I will try and install the new oc controls again and then re-import the amdryzenmaster16 reg key that Ryzen Master claims to not find after the new Alienware OC controls get installed.

@INXSEX

Did you ever try to download the oc  file directly from dell's website instead of trying from the awcc app.

(In fact there are 2, one from dell and from the microsoft store.)

Just download these and run them.

I only used the downloads from the Dell support site.  Wasted too much time on this; it's been a recurring issue.  Will wait for the A01 release.  As a first time AW user, but a XPS user for over 20 years, rather shocked that uninstalling and reinstalling these apps requires users go into the Windows registry.

@INXSEX

I don't think the Dell's reps can help, just the programmer can, it's a buggy program.....
It is likely that's not dell's work ,But then again... ( maybe that Jenkins guy would know)

That's why I recommend sending complaints using the feedback option in awcc.
it's a 2 questions thing, how satisfied ( scale 0-10) and are you likely to use the program again (0-10) and a comment section

On my computer get rid of the spinning balls by starting the OCControl.Service.exe ( As I have mentionned in other posts)

This service can quit by itself or not start at all. It can start and stop many times like it's not latching to something. If I stop this service the spinning balls are back. But once it's stay running ,the spinning balls ends.

Using a diagnostic software I can see some of what goes on,how the service  is started etc, but I can tell you that this particular service tries and connects to a server over the internet. the ip is 13.78.149.209 and
a104-123-192-8.deploy.static.akamaithechonologies.com over https. I believe, if the service does not connect, ping, or can't connect ( like firewall) , or that server rejects it, it will time out and quit thus spinning balls.
