n1100 - cpld update from version 7 to 20?
Hi there,
do you know if I could/should update the cpld version of our N1100 switch?
#show version
Machine Description............... Dell EMC Networking Switch
System Model ID................... N1108P-ON
Machine Type...................... Dell EMC Networking N1108P-ON
HW Version........................ 3
CPLD Version...................... 7
Image File........................ N1100v6.7.1.1
Software Capability............... Stack Limit = 4, VLAN Limit = 512
unit active backup current-active next-active
---- ----------- ----------- -------------- --------------
1 6.7.1.1 6.4.1.4 6.7.1.1 6.7.1.1
If I initiate the command the switch tells me this:
#update cpld
This operation will reset the switch on completion. Are you sure you would like to update the CPLD? (y/n)
I guess with reset its meant will reload the switch.

Sorry I just noticed the firmware update version I sent you is for N1108EP-ON instead of N1100.
So, it's ok. CPLD version 7 is the correct one for 6.7.1.1.
Regards.

Hello,
the last CPLD version for this switch is 6.7.1.1.
And yes, reset in this case means reload of the switch.
Thanks
Marco

Hi Marco,
thanks...regarding the firmware i know that this is the latest.
Regarding the CPLD it is currently on Version 7. Can you tell me if an update cpld would raise the version?
best wishes

Hi, if I may as far as I know in order to get CPLD, you have to formally contact the local phone support with your service tag.

Hey thanks for the reply.
Can you tell me if cpld version 7 is the latest on the N1100 Switches.
If it is there is no need for an update.
best wishes

Hello @White_Ninja,
No, 7 is not the latest. As you can see in "Important Notes" of this download firmware file, it says at least CPLD vr13:
