XPS 8950, new, i9, Nvidia RTX 360 Ti, constant system freeze

Hello,

I just got a month ago a brand new Dell XPS 8950 with i9-1200K processor, 32G RAM and Nvidia RTX 360TI video card. Since then, I keep having randomly (every 2 days approx.) total freeze of the system. Only thing available is to power off and restart the pc.

Dell hardware tests say all is ok. Dell support got all drivers and upgrades available done. But I still get these freezes.

Forums here seem to point out the Nvidia RTX 360 Ti as the problem. Intel UHD 770 graphic output works fine.

Keeping in touch with Dell support, but from what I read here, there isn't seem to be a solution.

I though that a $3500 brand new system would be perfect, well.

Thanks for anyone with a good solution.

Update = After completing troubleshooting, a DELL-Cares agent setup a part replacement.

I have an 8950 with the 12700k and the 3060ti video card. Everything has worked fine for the most part....After the May Microsoft patch Tuesday update, things were a little wonky with the video card connecting and reconnecting rapidly when the PC was waking up from sleep. The latest studio driver from the Nvidia site fixed the problem. If you haven't done so already, I would check to see if you have the latest driver from the Nvidia site installed.

I've just downloaded and installed the latest Nvidia Experience Studio drivers ver. 512.96. I will check if it solves the freezing problem. To be continued...

After the Nvidia latest drivers dowload last sunday, i still got a total freeze of the system this morning.

A Dell tech hase come home and changed my motherboard with a new one.

All hardware tests have passed OK.

I will check in the next days if the problem has been solved.

Two days after the motherboard change, i had no freeze problem yet.

All is working great.

I will keep checking for the next week to come and more.

Bad motherboard seem to have been the reason of freezing problem, not the Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti.

Thanks.

It was my situation with random freezing needing reboot everytime.

After the Dell long (40 min.) hardware test it gave me a UHD 770 video card failure.

An automatic request for part change from Dell appeared and i filled all informations.

About 4 days later, i received a call from a technician to come home and change my motherboard.

Since that change, i had no freezing problem anymore. It will be a week now.

I keep checking.

@ClodeFort I seem to be in a similar situation with similar specs...did you have any issues since replacing the motherboard? what specific diagnostic did you run?
