Aurora ALX R4, upgrades, RTX GPU

I have an Alienware Aurora ALX R4 mATX case, Id like to upgrade to the latest hardware. What series RTX GPU would fit this case?

    this just shows case is able to accommodate these cards.

    new motherboard needs to be microATX.  psu can be any standard ATX that can support gpu

    case default cooler is 120 mm AIO but apparently 240 mm or 360 mm AIO are possible too.

    If it's an ALX-model, it's fairly special. IIRC, any Aurora-R4 ALX model should have the larger stock 850w power-supply already. That means is will have TWO 8-pinner PCIe-Power-Cables available for use.

    An Aurora-R4 with Intel-i7 (and liquid-cooler), good amount of ram, etc ... I would not mess with upgrading motherboard. I would recommend all SSDs inside (or at least your C-Drive). Since it's UEFI-class, you might even be able to boot from a NVMe-SSD on a PCIe Addin card.

    There is plenty of room inside for video-cards. I think a RTX-3070 would be a good-enough match for that other hardware (without going over-board price-wise). Done right, you should be able to get another few years of service from it.

    What if I put an Asus rog strix b660-g gaming wifi motherboard in the case. What CPU should I pair it with from the Intel i7 and i9 generation ?

    Well, you will need a new liquid-cooler, and a new Windows-11 license. Very-likely, you will be unable to get lights/fans/MIO-Board to work with new motherboard and/or Windows-11. 

    If that is your objective, it would be easier inside a new after-market case (with appropriate after-market power-supply). Basically, a whole new computer.

    you can use R4 registry bios key to install AWCC on non-Dell motherboard such as the ASUS.  connect R4 case MIO to ASUS usb 2.0 header.  then you will be able to control LEDs of case.  When you are there you can come back to community for the R4 key which is available in archive.

    a few small points: ASUS motherboard uses nonstandard front IO. R4 case FIO is standard 9 pin.  You can use some adapter from 9 pin to ASUS.

    new liquid pump will probably connect to ASUS board directly while new radiator can plug into top lighting board SYS fan header (top left).  AWCC can control new radiator fan via MIO, but would not control new liquid pump.

    The original R4 liquid pump is plugged into top lighting board via a proprietary 7 pin connector (courtesy: Cass) and thus controlled/sensed by MIO and shown in AWCC.

    Unless you absolutely want to keep the case, it would be more economical to simply get a complete new system, or put together your own using retail components.

    Will all the LED lights work with an i7 or i9 Windows 11, an ASUS ROG STRIX b660-g gaming wifi motherboard and a NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition 24GB card ???

    yes all leds will work.
