Aurora R11, recommended GPU

Hello,

I got ahold of a used Aurora R11 with no GPU.

I've read some specs that the length of the card can only be up to 276mm (10.5")

Does anyone have a recommended video card that will fit?

    Hello!

Thanks to everyone for all the responses; You really helped me figure out what I could use and afford.

I ended up getting a EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC Gaming card...12G-P5-3657-KR, 12GB GDDR6, Dual-Fan, Metal Backplate - specs seem good and dimensions fit the box.

Because of GPU prices I paid a bit more than MSRP, however I really need this computer/gpu for work and this card was in stock and in budget.

    Thanks again!

Hi @RambosRide welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.

Support for Alienware Desktop Aurora R11 GPU-Discrete Table has many options. Be sure to check if these are custom made for Dell PCs or the original OEM full specification cards. Are you proposing to install GPU-Discrete from this Dell table, or install a different card to customise your R11, without upgrading the Power Supply Unit wattage, etc. ? New Alienware Aurora gaming desktops can now be ordered with custom RTX 3080, RTX 3090 GPUs - NotebookCheck.net News

Can you share your Aurora R11 build specification? (Do not include private System Service Tag or Express Service Code in this public forum.)

    Hello,

The box is coming with a pretty old replacement card - radeon R5 340 2GB video card - so I want to remove that one and put a newer card in place.

    i9-10900 3.7, 64gb ddr4 3200, 2tb m2 SSD, 1000w power supply. I'd like to try and stay in the 500-800.00 range if possible.

Your best bet is going to be to browse around to see what's available in that price range -- it's going to confine you to the low end of the market.

The other concern will be availability -- see what's available within your time frame.  While GPU shortages have eased a bit, you'll find many options are still unavailable.

    RambosRide,

    * At the top of this Alienware Desktop board, open, "FAQ Alienware Desktops"
    * Open, "FAQ Aurora R11"

Check GPU specs at https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/ They provide detailed dimension data.

MSI 3070 Ventus X2 should also fit in, also Nvidia 3070 FE.

I did the same thing.  Found a R11 for a good price eventually gave away my gtx 1070 and found a good used gtx 1080 for a good price.  Does everything I need.
