    Yes, it will do 16gb (4 x 4gb).

I suggest you get Aurora-R3 PDF manuals. It says:

    Memory
Connectors four internally-accessible DDR3 DIMM sockets
Capacities 1 GB, 2 GB, and 4 GB
    1333 MHz, 1600 MHz, and 1866 MHz
    Minimum 3 GB
    Maximum 16 GB
    Memory types 2- channel DDR3
NOTE: For instructions on upgrading the memory, see “Removing and Replacing
    Memory Module(s)” on page 37

    ----------------------------------

Your 2 existing DIMMs should be in the 2 slots comprising the Primary Memory Bank. Since they are a matched set, they should be running in Dual-Channels Mode. You can get CPUID's CPUz and verify that.

Historically, the Aurora-R3 is very particular about memory.

It would have a better chance of success if the new DIMMs matched the existing ones (or at least, as close as possible).

    Properly spec-ed DDR3-1333mhz Crucial/Micron should work, but I really don't know.

I suggest you closely match what you have ... I'm not kidding ... Aurora-R3 is the most finicky about ram of all the Aurora R1-R7. Don't try to go extreme/fast speed or anything like that. Just look back at old posts.
