Hi, I have a Dell Alienware 17R5. Its onboard VGA card (GTX1070) was concluded broken by local technician. The symptom is 3/2/1 beep code and 2/7 led code (2 red, 7 blue).

My question is that: If I have a way to boot my laptop to Windows without onboard VGA card (technician in my hometown do have a way) and setup external GPU through Alienware Graphic Amplifier, can I keep using my laptop to do popular task and play game (graphic-killer game like Battlefiled)?

Of course, buying a whole new motherboard is okay, but in the long run, upgrade VGA card for my laptop is a must. So, I would love to do it now.
