Some keys on keyboard (Alienware 17 R4) not working

Some of the keys on my laptop have issues. For example, the ; key requires multiple presses before it will produce the character. There are a few other keys that do this occasionally. Some are slow to respond. The keyboard is not used very often as I remote into the machine.

I update the BIOS to the latest version today and still have the same issue.

Suggestions?

Thank you,

CM

    Hi @ChaoticMachinery

Try an external KB and if it work fine, then it is a hardware problem and you'll need to replace it.

Send me a private message with the service tag, if you need further assistance.

    Service tag is

I did try an external KB and it works fine. The keyboard is barely used.

I did do the battery disconnect and turn the power on. That seemed to help a little. But today it is back to same behavior in that I have to press a key multiple times before it will respond.

I've got 2 keys that I am having issues the ; and the / keys.

Lastly, I have upgrade the BIOS to the latest version.

My email if you need it:
