Avamar licensing proccess

Hi everybody

Regarding roadmap of installing license in Avamar serwer:

As far as I know:

I have to run gathergsankeydata on utillity node and enter approprioate CN -xxxxxx number and A - xxxxxxxx number

in result license file *.xml is generated

According to "Avamar server Software installation manual" to get license we have to upload xml file to Avasphere customer support site, but there is no such site, so please let mi know where I can generate it?

On Powerlink site in License Management section there is no any link to Avamar software.

thanks

    Hi,

You can generate your license here : http://www.avamar.com/avateamextranet/login.aspx

If you do not have access the license can be generated by opening an SR with support.

    Regards

    Adam

    Hi Ernest,

If I were you I would contact your EMC Sales representative and ask them to help clear up any problems if your company should have access to the Avamar licence generation facility.

Things may have changed but last time I checked it was only possible to have a login to the Avamar 'extranet' by being an authorised EMC partner and having completed the Avamar installation training course.  If both those conditions were not met then the person would not actually be authorised to install Avamar.

    Best of luck

Yes, call your EMC guys and ask them to do it for you.

I think their process of moving Avamar into the EMC fold is still ongoing and the licensing process isn't quite there yet.
