snapshot removal task failed to start
I have a few image level backups that appear to fail in the activity log because of the snapshot removal process. For some reason, these VMs take about 30 seconds before the snapshot removal starts. Avamar sees this as the task failing. The backup is actually stored in Avamar, and the removal task does eventually begin and complete.
To accommodate this lag, is there a timeout or wait flag that can be added to the dataset so that Avamar sees the task start?

I am getting the exact same error. Where exactly did you enter these settings?
I am using Avamar to make an image backup of vcenter 6 appliance, but it keeps failing.

I think this resolved my issue.
The VCSA backup ran last night with no issues.
For the plugin I chose "Linux VMware Image" since this is the VMware Appliance that I am backing up.
I'm backing up the VCSA appliance 6.1 with Avamar 7.2.

Please provide info about your environment, i.e. VMware/HyperV, Avamar Ver. etc. for better understanding.
