DDBoost Affect on Restores

Hey Everyone,

Just a quick question:

Many features of DDBoost look awesome for backups, especially the Distributed Segment Processing that allows backup machines to only transmit unique blocks back to the Data Domain.

Do these DDBoost features like DSP also apply to restores?  For instance, when I restore data, will my backup server only request unique blocks from the Data Domain?  Or is this something that is unique per backup application?

Thanks for the help!

DDBoost white papers say it will me a faster restore versus traditional RMAN but they don't see it will be incremental restore only.  In all of our tests 11g, restore takes the same time as first backup using DDBoost.

DSP is only applicable for backup.
