Mixing drive sizes MD3000i?
So I got this MD1000 off the outlet store. Eight 1tb SATA drives and seven 750GB SATA drives.
So I make on big group with 14 drives do I lose the extra space on the 1TB drives or do I get to configure it as another disk group?
The other option is to create two raid 5 disk groups, seven 1TB drives and seven 750gb drives. I don't like this option becase then I loose 1.75TB due to the raids themselves right?

Oddly enough the math shows either way you end up with the same amount of space. I'm a little concerned about speed as it has to support some 40 VM's on these drives. Vcentersvr is the heaviest, most are just XP VM's.
