Hi,
I have one simple question according enabling HPAV on DMX-3. Is this procedure (on DMX-3) on-line for z/OS point of view ?
In EMC white paper ‘Exploiting HyperPAV in EMC Symm Environments’ there is information that disc director should be offline for each LSS. So, in fact the question is: is it possible to do it without stopping I/O ?
Just in case: we have proper CU emulation (C2107), proper microcode level and we are using dynamic PAV.

Correct,
I’ve just received confirmation form EMC support, that this procedure really needs to offline LSS. So it means in fact stop I/O.

, or I'd quote it here... On page 14, about mid page right above figure 7 it says 'this can only be done while the FICON directors ...are offline.' I think that & previous context means stopping i/o.
