PC Memory Upgrades
I am considering adding more memory to my laptop but have no idea which memory sticks are compatable or which ones I need. Does Dell Support offer a system analysis that tells me what is in my machine now & what sticks I need, or do I just have to open it up & look for myself. ?
or directly from Dell.com which is way more expensive

Hi,
Is the laptop new or older i have a Inspirion thats ram is easy to access but new computers are harder to replace the ram on I think it is under the bottom of the laptop if there are no covers that are not part of the main bottom its under the cover. If it has multiple doors its likely to be under a door

look at the current memory and look for a label that says something like "4GB ddr3" if it says DDR3 get DDR3 ram if it says DDR4 get that type of ram
