The default chimer setting is 3nodes that contact NTP servers. Now you can change it from the default of 3 to 1 if you would like, as you will need to go to the chimer settings to do so.Here is a link to the PowerScale OneFS Web Administration Guide & if you look on page 43 it explains about the NTP time server. https://dell.to/3p9l6Oa
Could you please help me understand the mentioned statement?
It says if the cluster > 3 nodes then 3 nodes are selected as chimers. At the same time, it says if the cluster =< 4 nodes only one node is selected as a chimer.
This may be the case of the study material content have not have been updated (or this question may have been missed).
By default, a cluster has three chimer nodes. Chimer nodes are the three lowest LNNs in the cluster. If a chimer node goes offline, the node with the next-lowest LNN takes its place. In a 3-node cluster, there is only one chimer node (the node with the lowest LNN).
So I would say based on that, the following assumptions:
Cluster nodes =< 4 would be Gen 4/5 nodes (where 3 physical nodes is the minimum required to form a cluster) or a simulator instance.
Cluster nodes > 4 would be Gen 6+ nodes (where 4 physical nodes is the minimum required to form a cluster).
