Isilon Onefs 6.5 (I Know) Boot drive degraded
Hi,
I have 2 Isilon nodes that have degraded boot drives, specifically the mirror/keystone directory. On the first one I replaced the missing boot drive ad4/J3 but it came up with the same symptom. mirror/keystone degraded.
On the second one gmirror status showed 3 directories degraded but not the keystone directory. I replaced the proper boot drive, in this case ad7/J4. All the directories came up complete except the mirror/keystone directory which again came up degraded.
I wanted to try rebuilding the mirror manually but I have had no luck figuring out how to do that.
I replaced the boot drives with a Sandisk 8gb SSD, I know that the Sandisk SSD's have an issue that wont allow them to keep track of wear life but I have not heard of this issue.
Any Ideas would be helpful
Tim

Hi Tim,
It has been awhile, but if I recall correctly, the error is a bit deceiving. I know you said you replaced the correct drive, but thought it might be worth double checking to be sure you replaced the correct drive.
If you run
#gmirror status
it should give you the information on which MIRROR is degraded (not which drive). So if ad7 says the mirror is degraded than ad4 is the drive that actually needs replacing.
You may be fully aware of that information and in that case, this wouldn't help at all. It can't hurt to check though.
