I have a Dell Precision 5510 and because the system doesn't work as I expected (every application starts with a small delay - ~1 sec) I made a benchmark for the SSD (SM951 NVMe SAMSUNG 512 GB). Here are the results:

Sequential Read (T= 1) : 1450.752 MB/s
Sequential Write (T= 1) : 1561.300 MB/s
Random Read 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 36.261 MB/s [ 8852.8 IOPS]
Random Write 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 69.531 MB/s [ 16975.3 IOPS]

Test : 1024 MiB [C: 63.2% (63.2/100.0 GiB)] (x5) [Interval=5 sec]

It seems that there is a big difference for Random Read/Write (IOPS) compared with the Samsung's specifications: www.samsung.com/.../MZVPV512HDGL .

They are mentioning that the SSD must have ~90K IOPS for Random Read and ~70K IOPS for Random Write.

The BIOS is updated withe the latest version (01.02.14) from the Dell's site. Also the drivers used by Windows.

Can someone tell me if the obtained values suggest a harware issue? Maybe I have to replace the SSD in order to fix the system's performance.

P.S. I've also installed Ubuntu 16.04 and I found the same behavior on it.
