I think the Windows sticker has the activation key printed on it.  If so, all you need to do is borrow a WinXP Home CD from someone else, and reinstall using your own key.  If your hardware hasn't changed since you erased Windows, XP should reactivate over the Internet without a hitch.

My comment might help you just as experience. I do not understand why you, while installing Linux, wiped out Windows XP MBR. Any Linux distro (please, anybody, correct me if I am wrong) is very user friendly and shows initial partitions before rearranging the logical partitions on the HDD. I can debate that many of distros do NOT have proficient partition manager (Suse 10.1 does not, at least, but Mandriva 2008 is just opposite, for example).

I guess, you were not enough experienced (the space on HDD itself is not an issue), I guess. Somehow you destroyed Windows XP MBR entry while installing Linux.

But even if you messed up with MBR, and Windows partitions stayed intact, I think there is a way how to correct these things. If this is NOT the case (Windows is physically reformatted), there is NO help other than to reinstall Windows XP, either from installation CD, either from net.

I think your Dell came with discs to reinstall Windows, if it was originally installed. There should be some blue ones with drivers and applications and brown one with Microsoft Windows on it. If you can find your brown disc, just put it in the CD or DVD drive and restart the computer. The instructions will appear on the screen, but they may not be real easy to follow. If you get stuck, just write us back.

If you can't find your disc, call Dell and see if they'll ship you another. Good luck.
