Hivemind Support (Alienware Alpha)
So I recently have been having issues when i boot up the console to where i can no longer launch Steam through the UI, i would have to click the power button and go to Desktop mode (which only works using the default Hivemind skin). I get an error that says "Script failed! : HiveMind Steam Launcher". I can't reinstall the Steam launcher add-on or launch any game from my Steam library through console mode.
A few days later whenever i boot up, HiveMind default skin doesn't even load up. It only shows me the "Confluence" and "re-Touched" skins. I can't get to desktop mode through any of them. I'm stuck and i need help!

So I have been having this issue with all launchers from console mode, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the hive mind interface twice now, it works alright for a couple of days then I have the same issues again with the launcher, get the message "unable to launch your application".
help or an update would be great right about now.
starting to get annoyed with the interface now. watched a dvd using the video mode the other day and when i exited it kept the dvd title screen as my background.
the console mode is a great concept but it is so not ready to be out in the real world and using a media centre as a template to build on was such a lazy and bad idea and the whole thing needs re-designing from scratch.
Or here's an idea: give us the option to roll back to the older operating system. You know, the one that actually WORKED! These units cost way too much for them not to work; the old Alpha OS worked {major hint here}. Rolling out an obviously untested OS, what were y'all thinking? Roll back to the previous OS while y'all get Hivemind fixed so we can USE our machines (just an intelligent thought here). Launching from the desktop is a shoddy workaround at best, as those ridiculous background notifications Windows is so fond of continually interrupt, if not crash, Steam games (this problem didn't exist under the old OS). Until y'all get Hivemind working, or roll back to the previous OS, the Alpha is just a waste of money. I'm bitterly disappointed in Alienware right now...

Hi,
In Console mode, try pressing Ctl-Alt-Delete. A window should come up with some options, click on the sign out option. This should take you to the login screen, click on your user account to access the Desktop mode.
Once you are in Desktop mode, go to Programs and Features and uninstall the HiveMind Interface application that should show on the list. After this, install the HiveMind application again, click here for the download link. Proceed to test the Console mode to confirm if the same issue happens when you launch Steam. Let us know how it goes.
