help pleaseeeeeee! 8100 wont boot up

Help I uninstalled exploer 6 and installed 5.5.. but when i rebooted it come on to blue screen and gives erorr.. Ezxplorer has caused an Error in SWHELL32.DLL
then it just freezes with blue screen.
also a Helpctr caused an error in SHWAPI.DLL
oh boohoo im on my son computer trying to get help to fix mine.. Please any help at all will be greatly apricated* Thanks Hugs Judy*

    Does it really say "Ezxplorer has caused an Error in SWHELL32.DLL" or is the z in explorer a typo? I did a search on swhell32.dll on google, and found no matches. I searche my computer running Windows ME and it did not find the file either. It is a pretty suspicious name - suggesting that you might have a virus (especially if the error message really does have the z in ezxplorer). Do you have antivirus emergency boot disks? If so, use them. If not, I am at a loss as to what to suggest. Maybe someone else can help.

    Judy,

    Are you SURE you have the correct filenames?. Do you use any visioneer products on that computer? (I know they make scanners, not sure what else though).
