HEY!!!!!!!
I know how to use my Dell and the programs I have, which is mostly mp3 and cd recording as well as hosting online radio, but I'm no computer freak. Tell me that I'm not alone when I mention this: Windows takes an extremely looooooooooong time to boot up, crashes constantly but not as much as freezing up. But for a laptop I have a Powerbook G3 with OS9. The time it takes OS9 to boot up is the same as it takes to switch applications on my Dell, not to mention it is also easier to manage than Windows. I've been a PC user for 5 yrs and I just got my very first Apple product, the Powerbook of course. I've heard about the 'wars' between PCs and Apple but have anybody actually worked with one of them. They're freaggin INCREDIBLE! What awesome power! Someone please make Windows more like Apple OSs. Well the post was really about Win98 but ever since I got the PB-G3 I've been comparing the two on how they operate, and I don't know about Win or PCs but to me it looks like Apple's got the edge.................(except they have poor software support). HEY! Respond if you ever encountered this kind of situation(comparing PC to Apple).......and I don't wanna hear from a PC freak who is part of this 'war'. Somebody who actually uses Apple and I don't wanna hear from a 'Mac-addict' either, like they actually look at a PC forum anyway.

I will concede that Mac's are good machines.
The best machine is the one that supports the software you need to run.
Mac OS is easy, they only have to write it for the hardware they install. Whereas Windows is written for ALL intel based PCs + any hardware some mfg wishes to hang on it!
Windows itself is quite stable, it is the running software that causes problems.
My PCs at home run 24/7 for months at a time without a problem. I am very particular about what I load and allow to run! I have two graphics programs that I can count on to crash. I use them, but I know about where they will break and when to save.
If you want to enjoy your PC then you need to start troubleshooting your apps here and get some advice.
Don't ask your friends, the experance level of this forum is much greater!
By all means, enjoy your Mac, but lets get that PC squared away.53
