yes my dad has a different isp.....and its been goin on for a while like  2-4 months....and i can download files but whenever they are like bigger theres something in them thats corrupt always...like for example i downloaded the battlefield secret weapons demo and the sound.rfa was corrupt everytime and i downloaded it 4 times....its like that for everything......and whenever my computer restarts it goes to a blue screen saying its gonna chckdisk and i have 10 seconds to press any key to stop it..and when i let it go like 60 percent through the process my computer just restarts..so i always skip checkdisk......im thinking about formating my computer and starting with a fresh windows and take out my old 20 gb harddrive cuz it always seems to be problems....do u think formating and starting over will help? im askin because im gonna have to redownload alot of stuff if i format

Burning huge number of mp3's on cd not my thing....but I'm sure someone will respond.....good luck on reformatting.....

i have comcast cable isp....1.5 mbs down 128k up....i dont think it has anything to do with caps..because my freinds have the same isp and they download all the files fine......and also since im probly gonna format tonite....do u know a program that lets me burn like 150 mp3s to 1 cd? i always hear about burning alot of mp3s to a cd but i cant find a program..they say you can have up to 200 mp3s on a cd and listen in ure mp3 cd player...but will that work with a computer to?

It's not Comcast. 

You need to run a complete scan of your hard drive.  Right click on the drive, then under Tools setup the scan.  Let it run and see what happens.

rickmtg....when i setup the scan and check the boxes to make it repair the problems it says it needs full use of windows files or someting and asks me if iwant it to run next time windows restarts..i did that before and when it restarts it goes to that blue screen and if i let it go my computer just restartes like 5 seconds into it

okay i scanned the disk and it said windows cannot complete scanning the disk...

First, your ISP may have a cap on the size file you can download....usually doesn't apply  unless you have broadband internet connection; such as, DSL or Cable...check ISP home page for Q & A and see if you can find the limit they may impose....30 megabits/s  doesn't seem possible but 30 Gigbits/s is another story.  (if you are using dialup they may have a time limit on continious internet usage, usually 8 hours)

Second, reformatting cures a lot of problems but this is drastic step....if you do this make sure you back up what you want (emails, etc)....

Third, you may want to call your ISP and see if they can help you before you consider reformatting....

Almost forgot, your chkdisk problems are major....If you have time, and it may take some, just let it go and when it restarts just let it go again....this may occur several times, hopeful someone else can give you advice/experiences on this, but I supect it is cleaning up things each time it restarts...

It's not unusual for the scan to restart several times.  Also, after around ten restarts, it will give you a message that asks you if you want it to keep letting you know.  Say no, and let it go.

If it tells you that it cannot complete the scanning (i.e. not that it keeps restarting), then you have a bad disk.

so do u think that would be the problem with the corrupt files? cuz the disk that i scanned is the one with windows xp loaded on it and it wont complete the scan on this one..but my second 75 gb harddrive finsihed the scan fine....so do you think if i format and load xp on my 75 gig harddrive and get rid of this one im using now it will be fine?

I would try running check disk scan in safemode (F8) first on drive giving you problems....if this does not work you may need to use the repair option on Windows by inserting Dell's Window CD....
