Maybe the connections are not properly plugged in? Is it 100% always after you boot the system 2x?

That happens to my girlfriend's computer after she decided that she HAD to have the 23" Apple Cinema Display despite my trying to convince her otherwise. lol.
SOMETIMES it will load up correctly..
But the monitor is blank until right before the windows starts loading..
no BIOS screen no nothing until then..
MOST of the time the monitor does not turn on until I have to reset the computer..
    Very very annoying..
Anyways I do not know why this happens and if there is a way to fix it..
    Someone help us out.. lol..

Haha she got you right there Lazism!

With the 23" Apple, does it still happen? Maybe yes but your gf is just trying to hide it hehe.

If the monitor is a CRT, sometimes it does show up the images a little late than expected compared to my LCD. I think its because of the CRT's power conservation feature.

Thank you all for replying.  I have an XP,  Dell LCD monitor.  It never comes up the first time and always comes up the second time and loads perfectly.  My main concern was it would eventually fail but it seems to be a common problem.  My connections are fine,

Try contacting Dell support because that is really not normal. It should start up the first time you turn on your computer.
