while i'm at it might as well ask this one as well... again with the 2400 and two hard drives. the one i have as master now is all but brand new. the slave( which has been the master before) i can used as needed through the master. When i switch them around i find that for some unknown reason i put a adminstrator password on there... and yes have no clue what it is. is there any way to get around this

Can you access the files on the old drive after you boot to the new drive? Obviously, you could format the old drive and that would solve the problem, but I suspect you're trying to avoid that.
