previous fan failure
i installed a cooler that is not dell, and it always appears the message "previous fan failure"
is there any possibility of not appearing that message.
the computer is working fine, it´s just that I always have to press f1 when i turn on the computer
My computer is a dimension 4300

All you have to do is transfer the OEM fan connector to after market fan enabling you to plug it directly into the MOBO thus eliminating the fan fault.

- Dell fans send a tachometer signal back to the motherboard. Aftermarket fans don't necessarily do this. If the tach signal is missing, it triggers the 'previous fan failure' message. You may need another aftermarket fan that definitely has the tachometer feature.
