Startup/Shutdown problems
After deleting and uninstalling various programs, I'm having problems with startup and shutdown. At startup, I'm getting a window labeled "Finished-ZZ" ans the text inside it says "(29010) must specify one of: ZZDUMP, AACHECK, ZZLOAD". The OK button in it doesn't work, so I close the window. Also, the "Welcome to Windows 98" and "AT&T 30 days of free Internet Access" windows open.
During shut down, the "End Task/Shut Down" window automatically opens and I choose "End Task". The "Ilegal Operations" window then opens, with different error messages each time. The computer then tried to restart windows, then shuts doen on its own.
I'm using Windows98 (not SE) and I tried to reinstall it. I think I may have some damaged files. This didn't work. I tried the Scanreg, but the registry only shows one day.
I'm at the point of uninstalling Windows98 and reinstalling it. Is this a good idea and how do I go about doing it?
