System Configuration Tool/Utility

just spent the past 40 minutes trying to get a CURRENT system configuration. i used the search box in the "support" area forming and reforming questions, phrases and keywords to acquire the CURRENT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION for my dim 5100. i followed all the directions given by the search results to NO avail. this tool/utility used to exist because i have employed it in the past (granted, i used it a long time ago...). does it have a new name or is it no longer available? thank you.

    thank you for responding.

that was ONE of the areas in which i spent the 40 minutes.

when i clicked on the "current" system configuration tab i got error messages ( a yellow shield or "error on page"). it would not open.

The original sys config works quickly and the current sys config works quickly too, once you allow the acitive X control to be installed, which is required to scan your system.

After clicking the "Yes, I Agree" business it pops up in the usual place toward the top of the web page.

i entered the dell site from a different "angle" and LO AND BEHOLD, it worked!

maybe it had something to do with the sun being up and not being so self-demanding at 4:00am (rollingonfloorlaughing).   :smileyvery-happy:

    thank you for your patience.
