Upgrade XPS300 processor?

I have a Dimension XPS300 (ancient, I know). I have upgraded the 4 gig drive to a 40. Is it reasonably possible to upgrade the processor to a faster one? Will the mother board support a faster processor and if so, how fast a one? Thank you

    Post this over at the Upgrade forum. The experts at upgrading hang out there. IMHO, it's not worth upgrading. By the time you spend $$$ to upgrade, you could buy a new one.
