USB not recognized when using usb 2.0
I got a new hp 1020 laserjet printer and tried to instally my first usb device on my dimension 3000.
I got a usb not recognized.
I read thru the forums and disabled the USB2 enhanced host controller. The printer works fine with usb 1.1.
The usb controller says it is a 82801EB, so I went to intel and downloaded the new INF for my motherboard, version 8.xx etc, and reinstalled the usb devices with usb 2.0 host controller enabled, and still got the USB device not recognized.
So I will have to live with the printer being on usb 1.1 for now since it works.
Anyone have a solution to this problem?
USB 1.1 works for a printer, but the USB2 host controller when turned on does not work for this printer device. I have not tried other devices on this computer, but this is the 2nd printer so I assume it isn't the printer.

- How did you install the printer? If you connected the printer first, that is incorrect and will result in either wrong drivers being installed by Windows XP or it will fail. The correct sequence is to install the HP software and only when the install program tells you, then connect the unit to the PC.It may also be your USB cable, have you tried a new USB 2.0 certified cable?
