useless USB ports
I have six USB ports on my (Vista) Dell. Normally,I plug in a jump drive(flash drive) in order to download, or drag and drop, or whatever. One USB port(L) works fine. Problem is that when I plug into any other port and double click to open I get a message "insert a disk in drive". In other words, the message is telling me to do exactly what I just got finished doing. I cant get past that message so all the ports except one are unusable. I tried using a different flash drive.Same result. Any help would be much appreciated.

- To Fireberd:Thanx for your response. I have a Dell E520 using Vista. My keyboard and mouse are wireless and are working OK. I went to Device Mgr. and there were about twenty items with the letters USB in the title, so I wasn't about to touch that by myself. I'll wait till tomorrow and try to contact a Dell support tech. If I can understand him,I'll run your info by him and see what he thinks.Thanx again for your time. mrktwn
