Windows me

My brother screwed up my system and reformated the harddrive. So I want to know if there is any important drivers I need to install for windows me such as Intel 815 Chipset driver, Ultra ATA drivers and any controller drivers(NOT sound card, video card, cd-rom, dvd, monitor, etc). I'm not sure because I know you have to install some of these drivers for windows 98 so I don't if I have to do the same with windows me?

I did a clean install of Me on my 4100 and did not reload any of the system drivers (ATA, chipset, etc). I could not find anything in the Dell doc that indicated that they needed to be loaded for Me. And they were not listed on the Resource CD for ME. System runs fine.

Your Dell Resource CD that came along with your system will have these items on it.

    Tx a-lot !

No, but then I used a Me CD that I had bought for a previous machine. I would suspect that the Me CD that comes with the Dell systems has the Dell logo just as the systems are delivered.

Don't know about the monitor numbers you asked about.

if u reinstall windows, all the drivers u need will be in the various cds that came w/ it: windows, video card, sound card, etc. the installation process should take care of all that. the computer would start in the same condition as when u first got it, provided u didn't add any hardware since u got the computer.

but if u upgraded drivers since u got the computer, u'll have to go back to the same sites and d/l them again.

as to the dell logo, if ur talking about the one that shows up on the upper right hand corner w/i seconds of powering up, i believe that's the bios, not windows. they're not related.
