I recently purchased a Lattitude d600 from a guy that was having a moving sale.  I wanted to finish up other computers I was back logged on before I started working on that one. I inadvertantly misplaced the bios administrator password that I had written on a piece of paper. Well the guy has since moved, and now I am trying to get into the laptop, and it has an administrator password, and will not even boot up.  I had bought it for parts originally, and hadn't been concerned about getting into it, but found some other parts to finish what I was working on at the time, so now I want to get this one booted up and play with it.  I don't see a battery on the motherboard, which is always on desktops, so I could pull the battery and reset the bios.  It just comes up saying there is an administrator password, and won't go any further.  Any ideas anyone? I was told maybe the cmos battery is a small battery pack up front, inside, but I pulled that for a good 24 hours, and the bios did not reset.  I read somewhere also, that maybe just unplug the cmos battery, hold down on the power button, to make sure you have drained it completely, and then try it.  Sound plausible?
