crackling audio, any solution?
Since day one my audio has been issuing a lot of crackling during movie or sound playback. This goes with headphones as well as speakers, so the problem is not the speakers but likely the sound card or driver.
Is this a common issue with a solution? I have not been able to find anything on the Dell support site.
- What laptop is it? If it has LED's how do you have these setup i.e. breathing or strobe or no effect?

I have it too, and I've wasted about a full 24 hours talking/waiting for Dell to fix it, they've given me new drivers, new bios, took remote access on my PC, even had someone replace my motherboard and still isn't fixed. Looks like you'll be getting a headache soon as well.

I should have mentioned, it's a 1530... not sure what the LEDs are referring to.- I have read somewhere on these forums that it may be a wifi driver problem, try disabling the wifi and listen. If the crackling is still there then i have no idea i'm afraid... As the problem i had with my XPS 1710 was that the LED's were set to breathing and that was causing choppy audio and framing. When i disabled that in Quickset the problem went away.
